Where to rent movies nowadays?

Hi all,
I would like to know if it's just me and my computer, or:
Why are .mkv files playing better than movies I rented in windows store.. (sound and video mismatch over time) Or iTunes (just plain hacky), or Google (streaming sucks, pauses to fetch more content randomly)...

Really, apart from downloading via BitTorrent, where people most of the time do a decent, sometimes brilliant, rip, where can I actually PAY for GOOD content?

Yeah, Netflix and HBO Nordic are good video-quality and streaming is decently working. But they don't have everything I want.

So, where do you people out there go to find good movies that play well on your computer, _and_ pay for them? Since I have given up, and it disturbs me I can't pay the movie I rent.
