I've just downloaded the latest version (wayyyy late, I know, don't use VLC often) and was staggered to see the version name, WeatherWax.

Now unless I'm missing something, that's a direct reference to Terry Pratchett and Discworld.

Is that true?

If so, the whole thing just went to the top of the scale of awesome.

VLC release names were originally (James Bond) Goldeneye characters. But nowadays Discworld characters are used instead.
