Hi dears,

when I paste following address what it standard HTML page

http://www.ceskatelevize.cz/ivysilani/1 ... issingerem

into "open network url" (ctrl + n) VLC player somehow extract the m3u8 stream and plays the pure video stream. Some video services works, some doesn't work. For example biggest Pakistani service Tune.pk doesn't work, Youtube works.

How VLC knows how to extract video stream URL? Does it have build in youtube-dl or it has own extractor library?

VLC has its own extractor scripting engine.

Yes, I found the file called youtube.lua, but there is no "ceskatelevize.lua".

I came here looking for this answer as well. Where can we find this extractor, and is there a way we can contribute towards expanding it for other websites?
Some basic pointers would be appreciated.

... Ok, in the meantime I did some research. Am I correct in understanding a "lua" script should be written with instructions on how to parse the correct link, which should then be added to the lua/playlist folder in order for VLC to take it into account?
