VLC CLI Scripting Question - Help!

Hello VLC Experts!

I have a large repository of video clips (about two thousand clips) ranging from a few seconds to about 30 minutes in length. I am looking for a way to grab a couple of random screen grabs from each clip. Rather than opening up each clip one at a time, I was hoping to figure out a way to automate the process with a command line script that would iterate through each file and save out a few frame grabs into a new directory.

Does anybody know if this is possible with VLC?
