My videos look dark and at times choppy.

Im using VLC on windows 8 and I have just noticed my videos look dark and choppy at times.
The videos were of good picture quality last night. Could this be a bug or something wrong with my hardware?

Or just a temporary issue. Reboot your machine and reset VLC preferences.
