One track at a time

Hi Guys. I'm a singer in a duo and we use WAV files as backing tracks, using VLC under Windows connecting to our mixer via USB.
Please does anyone know how I can enter a Playlist that will play one track at a time, with the next track playing only when a single keystroke is pressed?
What I hope to achieve is 'keystroke' single track plays then stops, next track ready to play (player in pause mode), 'keystroke' - next track plays. This is repeated throughout the playlist.
At the moment, I can play one track at a time by selecting the tracks from a folder outside VLC, but it means double clicking the music file which is taking too long on stage.

Use play-and-pause option of VLC.

Try to use program called Mixere. It is free and easy to use.

I have used the Mixere program and I find it is much easier than the play-and-pause option of VLC.

You want VLC's "pause on the last frame of video" setting. It works with audio as well, despite the name. Here's how to do it:

• Select Tools > Preferences
• Select the Interface tab (default tab)
• At the bottom of the Interface options, in the Playlist section, tick "Pause on the last frame of a video"
• Click Save
• Start playing the first video
• It will pause once it reaches the end
• To move on to the next video, hit n (next).
• If you need to go back, hit p (previous).
