Streaming Laptop Audio uPNP

Hello,

I suspect this is the wrong place to post this, but I can't figure out the best place. I've recently purchase a Grace Digital IRDT200, ostensibly to stream Pandora via a dedicated device. It works great for that - and as an aside it's a great device. It has a bunch of other functionality, one of which is streaming via a UPnP server. For instance, it streams from WMP fine. What I'd really like to do is to stream ANY audio from my laptop to it. Really this is because the audio from my laptop is not loud enough - I'd like to stream to my stereo. That ways I could view videos (like youtube, for instance) and actually hear them. I've done a lot of Googling and tried a few things to no avail. Admittedly even though I'm a network engineer in real life, the UPnP/streaming stuff is a bit outside my area of expertise - I feel like I need a punk 12 year old to show me the error of my way. :?

Anyway, I came across an article that says you can do this with Icecast and Edcast, but Icecast is long gone apparently. I looked at VLC and I can't see how to do this. I installed MediaMonkey and Edcast and get no joy. Yes, I could run a cable across the room, but...that's so un-elegant. Can someone point me in the right direction? It seems like this should be possible.

Thank you!
