I signed up to the forum just so I could give a huge thumbs-up to this program. I use it on my Windows PC and on my Android tablet and it really works great. It's really amazing how well it works, to be honest. I've tried all kinds of different media players and VLC is without doubt the best one available!

Anyhow, that's about it. I don't have any bugs to report or anything. I use a Verizon Galaxy Tab 7.0 and even though my tab is dated, VLC plays videos and music flawlessly on it! The Windows version has worked well for me for many years now, and ever since the full-width seek bar was implemented I've had absolutely 0 issues!

I'll give yet another 'thanks'...as a Veetle broadcaster.

The 'lore' on Veetle (I've been there as a broadcaster for 2+ years) is that Veetle is
heavily based on VLC. Clearly, that's true, since Veetle supports 'external VLC' as
one of it's broadcasting methods.

And, I've recently been exploring pretranscoding, using VLC cmd-line methodology
(which is significantly easier to get your head around than the GUI-setup to transcode, in my view).

Anyway, bottom-line: Thanks to all of you who keep VLC right up there.

About 6 years ago I was having trouble playing a movie from a video file on my PC. I couldn’t get it to play in either Winamp or WMP. I was ready to give up as this broken file seamed ready for deletion. Then my house mate suggested that i try VLC. Not having heard of VLC before, I told him, 'if it wont play on the two media players I have already tried, the chances are it's broken.' I remember his reply; "VLC will play anything!" Intrigued at this bold statement, but not convinced, I downloaded VLC and tried play the file. Of course, it did play perfectly.

Ever since then, whenever video files prove problematic, I always unleash VLC Player. It's like my secret weapon. I don’t know how it does it, but it just does.

Nobody comes even close to organizing their digital media as well as I do.

All cel phones can now shoot video. This Apps latest features make good use of those capabilities.

Video cataloging is completely different from Pictures. There are many segments in a video that may need explaining; from the perspective of shooter. RAW video doesn't include the whole story. And you can seldom verbally explain things on the fly. So large text with the video is the answer. It's easy to skip the text to just watch the video.

Being able to randomly sample these video segments along with the textual details; helps keep you in touch with your digital info.

The Time-Line Playback method requires no editing; so you only have the original videos to catalog. No mess of tiny video snippets cluttering up your computer.

What a powerful training / teaching tool this app is.

When you have lots of data there is a need to randomly sample it now and again to stay in touch. Video without comments quickly lose their relevance.
