Hi im new here! This is my first post and I have a question, but I wasn't really sure what forum to post it in, so i figured this would be good as any. i've been using vlc for a while now but i was wondering if there was a way to download and install more visualizations for when im listening to music. Or maybe a guide posted in the forums somewhere? I didn't really find anything when I searched. But any help would be much appreciated and if you need to know anything about my pc just let me know. Thanks in advance! -Jayroe

Welcome to the forums :).
i've been using vlc for a while now but i was wondering if there was a way to download and install more visualizations for when im listening to music.
All of the visualisations (found by going to Audio >> Visualisations) should work out of the box. Goom will give you a variety of different visualisations and the others (except for projectM) will just give you their one style. The only one you can add presets for is projectM.

By default projectM will only give you a "projectM" logo preset. If you want more you'll need to download some presets. You can find them here:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/project ... s-samples/

I went for the Milkdrop presets (e.g. presets-milkdrop_200-2.0.0-Source.tar.gz). Download and extract the contents into a folder (if you can't/don't know how to extract *.tar.gz use a program such as 7-Zip).

Then you just need to point VLC to the presets folder. Do this by going to (in VLC):
Tools >> Preferences >> (Select "All" for "Show settings") >> Audio >> Visualisations >> projectM

Then click "Browse..." for the "projectM preset path" and select the folder you extracted them to.

Then to enable just go to "Audio >> Visualisations >> projectM" when playing something.

Cheers, Arite.
