how to disable vlc as the normal DVD player?

hello. i have two programs that can play dvds and i want to change it to the other program (aka, MPC-HC). i see no setting in windows or vlc to change this option. pls help

You need to check the autorun settings in the Control Panel of your Windows version.

Try to set "Ask me every time" in dvd autoplay section.
Are you using the portable version of MPC-HC?
