When comparing VVC, AV1, HEVC, and AVC for high resolutions, VVC and AV1 offer superior compression efficiency and better performance, particularly for 4K and beyond. VVC generally has a slight edge in terms of compression, while AV1 is more accessible due to open-source support. HEVC remains solid for 4K content but lags behind VVC and AV1 in efficiency. AVC, though widespread, is outdated for high-resolution content, with significantly lower compression efficiency.
