Youtube Streaming Without Youtube Lua

I have been forced to use YT-DLP with other media players due to the current state of the Youtube Lua. (It is very broken!)

Is it possible to integrate YT-DLP with VLC?

the problem is many videos on YT are being "cross-linked" to google video.
