Newbi Needs Help

I have aT95Q. When I download and install VLC and go to set up things go down hill. Looked at many YouTube videos, but none seem to have a menu that matches what I see. I select the media list, I go to "Streaming" enter my M3U URL. I get a broadcast, looks like the first channel in the category (sports) from the Guide in Kodi. I can change channel only one at a time up or down. There is no EPG, no channel guide or channel list ? What have I missed ?
