How is VLC player able to open anything I put in it?
How is VLC player able to open anything I put in it?
Why can't Windows Media Player do it without hundreds of codecs and VLC has like one?!!?

Because VLC is using its own internal codecs and has nothing to do with Direct Show and Media Foundation codecs.
