2 Questions!

Hi,

First of all sorry if I'm posting in the incorrect forum. If I am then please let me know and I'll re-post this in the appropriate place. Thanks!

I have two issues that I was hoping someone could please help me with.

1) I've recently downloaded several x265 files, however, I am not seeing a video preview thumbnail for any of those videos. Instead I am simply seeing the VLC traffic cone icon. The video playback is absolutely perfect btw, I'm just hoping to figure out how I could get the video preview thumbnails. Is this related to the VLC Media Player's interaction with x265 files or do I need an external program to resolve my problem?

2) I have downloaded some m4v files and was hoping to play them on the VLC Media Player without having to convert them. Is this possible? Does anyone have any information on whether or not the VLC Media Player will be receiving this functionality sometime in the future?

1) not related to VLC.
2) You can play m4v in VLC directly. Use open dialog.

For #2 I should have clarified, I have tried opening my .m4v files in VLC and I receive the following message:

"No suitable decoder module:
VLC does not support the audio or video format "hev1". Unfortunately there is no way for you to fix this."

Will VLC Media Player will be receiving the functionality to play these types of files sometime in the future?

m4v with hev1 ? Try 2.2.0
