DVD-Audio VIDEO?

Postby InquiringMind » 28 Jan 2014 03:37

While discarding some ancient cd-roms I came across a couple of Sound Blaster installation discs containing DVD-Audio samples and got curious. I was able to use Foobar to rip all the audio, but there are video menus that apparently contain the documentation for the music samples which I can't access. I say "apparently" because, though the file structure looks superficially like typical DVD video (the VIDEO_TS folder is less than 2MB total), the only root menu item that any DVD-playing program I have tried can select reads "Credits and Information" which consists of four static screens telling me about the DVD-Audio. I assume it is the only selection with no associated audio.

Is there any way to display the other video sub-menus, even if the audio won't play?

None of five programs I have tried has displayed any error message or crashed because of a failing menu selection -- they just don't respond. Probably there was software on other Sound Blaster installation discs that would work, but I no longer have the hardware.

No big loss if there's nothing to be done...

No, those are both DVD and DVD-Audio. Just open the AUDIO_TS part for the DVD-Audio
