in the instructions for the use of new skins with VLC:
http://www.videolan.org/vlc/skins.html
it says:
--> Maybe one should add here that, in order to be able to use the new skin, youHow to use skins?
To launch VLC with the skins2 interface:
* Download and install the latest VLC version
* (X11 users) Launch VLC with the following command-line: vlc -I skins2
(or, for the old deprecated skins module: vlc -I skins)
* (Windows users) Launch VLC using the appropriate shortcut in the Start menu. You can also start VLC from command-line, in a DOS window.
* If you don't want to use the default skin, just download another one on the skins download page
* Once VLC is started with the skins2 interface (or with the skins one), you can use the CTRL+S shortcut to load the new one. Enjoy!
first have to download the skin file,
then have to copy it into the "skins" folder of the VideoLAN installation directory,
then set the preferences in the "General Settings" tab to "Skinnable interface" and
finally reopen the VLC player.
Just for the dummies among us... Or is there another way which I do not know? If so, why not putting it on the support website? Some screenshots could also be helpful...
Best Regards and good luck for the further development - it's a damned good tool, and so should be the instructions for using it!
