Sagetv

Hi, I have Sagetv set up on a computer to record tv shows to a usb hard (NTFS). I also have some DVD's ripped to the drive. I have a stand alone Sagetv HD 200 to play these files. However, the HD 200 doesn't play nice with NTFS. I have tried to copy these files to another hard drive formated ext3, but I cannot--my computer freezes up completely each. Can anyone help me?
