I just put a whole lot of .jpg files into vlc to see what would happen. I actually like the program as a slide show tool, because you can use the crop feature to make sure that the pictures match up. I think if it ran smoother and you could change how long an image file stayed on then vlc would probably be my favourite slideshow program as well as my favourite video program. Try it out for yourselves and see what you think.
