Bidirectional audio server

Hi anyone...
I am trying to find a bidirectional audio server application to allow simultaneous feeds in two directions between a pair of Windows PCs (acting "servers"). Can VLAN support this? It would seem quite an overkill for something like this but so far I have found nothing available. One point is that any application providing this should have low latency/delay/buffering to allow a conversation to take place.
