Hi Guys,
I have a question, I work for a company which uses a bit of software called hydra. Hydra basically is a visual basic app which allows the delivery of audio and video clips.
Hydra is installed in 5 synidcate rooms and is controled by a master control room which can 'Fire' in the video and audio. For more info on hydra go here : http://www.liv.ac.uk/Psychology/ccir/hydra.html
Now here comes the problem, to check if hydra has successfully fired in the video/audio the control room requires a system to view the synidcate's screen to check if everything has gone to plan. Now VNC does this job very well but however it cannot display if the video is being played on the syindates screen as it just comes up with a black square. I have done some research into this problem and discovered that its because VNC is purely screen capture which cant access the video overlay as its prosessed via the GFX card.
Im looking for a possible solution to this issue. I have tried VLC desktop streaming and had some good results with the fact i could play and .avi inside windows media player and for it to be included in the dektop stream and viewed in the control room. However this doesnt seem to be the case for all types of video (multiple types can be used i.e. wmv and others)
Does anyone know of a way i can get this to work or even that im barking completely up the wrong tree and there is a much simpler solution.
Thanks alot for reading.
Adam
