VideoLAN to be suported by foxyTunes (firefox extension)?

Postby Gwen » 31 Dec 2004 02:33

Hi guys,

Risking to be yet another one saying "what a great piece of software" I can't resist saying that while having faced troubles with the multimedia software provided as the base within FC3, VLC is just running smooooth :)
Back to the topic :)

Being also a FireFox lover and since this nice thing is as much cross platform as VLC, I found a pity that VLC is not supported (yet :)) by one of firefox extensions, namely foxyTunes ( https://addons.update.mozilla.org/exten ... mit=Update ).
I have seen so many VLC lovers around here that maybe some of you want to give a little hint to foxytunes telling that this would be very welcome. Just go and vote there :)

Dear VLC developers, what about a VLC plugin for Firefox? Feasible?

VLC rullzzz :)
Season greetings

----------
FC3 / Gnome 2.8.0 / Firefox and... VLC of course :)

PS: VLC masters, if you wish you can submit the details of VLC features for the comparison between players. I submitted already something with the features lists posted on VLC site (http://www.videolan.org/vlc/features.html) but you would probably do it better than me :p

See also viewtopic.php?t=4345 for FoxyTunes support of VLC. I don't know the current status though.

Thanks guys for your replies!
Good to see that foxyTunes author is already aware of the need, let's hope for a quick release with it :)

Thanks also for the plugin hint, it seems I didn't look carefully enough around :p
I found indeed the install how-to for debian linux (I know it's the favorite distri at ECP :p), I'll try to fix something for my FC3 :)

The VideoLAN support has finally been added to FoxyTunes starting from version 2.9.6. Read about it here:

Thanks,
Shura (FoxyTunes team).
