Well VLC can do that, too. So no need for additional software, VLC can do it all :D (mostly)

you also getting iPhone, right?
that's great VLC could do the same work! I have tried this Apple iPhone software, ah... from http://www.mp4converter.net , it works wow, hahaa, maybe because of my new iPhone :P . Oh, by the way, I think it's enough to get one single piece of software instead of the suite package. working on maths... :?:

I recommend mp4converter iPhone Software and VLC.
BTW, another news here
iPhone hackers turn up a few vulnerabilities
The first is apparently similar to one of the bugs recently found in the Windows version of Safari which, in this case, allows someone so inclined to take control of the browser and run applications by causing a buffer overflow. The second, somewhat simpler flaw Errata discovered is that the device can apparently be easily locked up when exposed to a so-called Bluetooth "fuzzer."

Can\'t see what\'s all this oomph and aah about an iPhone. Its just a dumb phone from a dumber company.

Lets see what it has special, shall we?

1. google maps - any phone with web access(read PDA) can do it.

2. all the facilities of a phone - whats your phone for, bake cakes?

3. play music - lots of phones can do the same, and so can your PDAs. With VLC available for them, you needn\'t be worried about the formats of the media ;)

4. touch screen - not all are comfortable with those anyway. they have limited lives under heavy use, and with more and more people growing big these days, a wrong touch with that fat finger of yours may result in an action completely the opposite of what you were looking for.

5. camera - how common are camera phones??? they can snap your rival in an embaresing moment, record the video of your friend slipping on a banana skin and post it on youtube, and even record your boss snoring

6. a web browser - duh.... a PDA

7. an os - pocket linux beats the crap out of anything, IMO

8. battery - non personally replacable? limited life? whats the difference between this and others?

It's just the intuitive OS, the motion sensor and that the touch screen is a multi touch screen and most important for many that it's kinda a status symbol. But I agree with you, the hype is just overreaction, there are also quite a few bad things about the iPhone.

IMO, the iPhone is just another PDA.

I hope there will be an iPhone Linux too, which can add a virtual keyboard thanks to the touch pad. then the iPhone will act like a REAL PDA. I also don\'t mind a full fledged OS this time. I would also like another GBA emulator(wow the iPhone can actually be a sensation, courtacy, the open source community)

I was recently told that vedios converted by these software could be played on iPod too.

Didn't know it before and thanks Tom (my friend).

Why do you always bump these converters, are you trying to advertise them?

Think that there may be someone in future would like to mod iPhone just like what happened to iPod, and therefore, it's quite possible to have a Linux iPhone later. You mentioned keyboard, which make me refer to Blackberry, another PDA. Have you guys heard about it and what do you think about it then? Better than iPhone or otherwise?
