Live streaming problem

Postby AndreasB » 03 Jun 2005 14:29

We are using VLC 0.8.1 on a Mandrake 10.2 box.

We are currently using several PVR cars (Hauppauge 250/350 cards), and we wish to do live streaming with them. However, when using bitrates above 2Mbps, we get these kinds of errors:

[00000327] access_output_udp private debug: mmh, packets in the past (-3) -> drop
[00000327] access_output_udp private debug: dropped 1 packets
[00000327] access_output_udp private debug: mmh, packets in the past (-614) -> drop
[00000327] access_output_udp private debug: dropped 1 packets
[00000327] access_output_udp private debug: mmh, packets in the past (-204) -> drop
[00000327] access_output_udp private debug: dropped 1 packets
[00000327] access_output_udp private debug: mmh, packets in the past (-881) -> drop
[00000327] access_output_udp private debug: dropped 1 packets
[00000327] access_output_udp private debug: mmh, packets in the past (-147) -> drop

These package drops causes horrible mpeg artifacts when playing the live stream.

Has anyone experienced anything similar, know a workaround. I need to do three 3 Mbps streams per computer, ideally.

Return to “VLC stream-output (sout)”
