Store streaming station

I have just installed VLC 1.1.10 but can't get any of the help links / FAQ's to activate to answer the following:
1. I can't figure out how to store a particular streaming station if it's one I want to visit frequently. Is this possible?
2. One of these is The Arrow (all rock radio) but with this it doesn't come on stream if you just enter the URL. Somehow you have to find out and instead enter "the stream" code to get it to work. How do the experts do this? This makes it all the more useful if I can store the code rather than have to memorize it!
