swf files for VLC

Hi there,
I know that currently VLC doesnt support .swf formats. I was wondering if there is a way to play them in vlc with the help of flash players? Considering a lot of live TV channels are based on this format, it would be very useful.
P.S: Converting swf files to a format that VLC can play also works.
