Using VLC to stream a good internet radio

Okay,
I have a few questions. I just recently figured out how to use the new 1.1.7 interface to stream and would like to make a few changes to my radio station I already have set up.
1. Is there a better way to stream a playlist than making an .xspf and setting it as the stream source. This seems to be working okay, but I have a feeling my other questions might complicate this.
2. Can I stream a video along with the music that is like my logo and the current song name, but have it dynamically generated (like not have to premake the vid then stream that) I have a feeling this can be done with the subtitles api.
3. This isn't directly related to VLC, but if I am hosting my vlc stream on a port (lets say 9090) at my house and my control mechanism on 8080. Then I forward those ports on my router, how can I use my shared webhosting plan to connect to that like be able to connect to mysite.com:9090 to listen to my tunes. I have seen this done and I can't afford getting a VPS or dedi. for just this but is there anyway to forward connections there to my own ip?
Thanks for any help/leads!
