Convert FLV Video to Mp3 Audio Only

I am using VLC Player 1.1.5 I have a Flash Video that I want to Extract the Audio From. I go through the Process but the Track always ends with a .ps and windows 7 doesn't know what to do with it. I try changing it manually to mp3 but then VLC will not play it. I got it to play in Windows Media Player after Converting it to Mp3. But I don't understand why VLC wont play it now. I want to send the mp3 to someone to see if they know the name of the Song playing during the Flash Video. Mp3s will play on a computer without downloading any extra software. The person I want to send the file Will not listen if she has to download something to get it to work.
