Converting multicast streams from PIM Dense to PIM Sparse

Postby edalberg » 30 Mar 2005 00:29

Hello
I'am recieving IP TV streams from a provide who only supports PIM DM and I have routers in my network that only supports PIM SM. Do anyone have an idea on how to convert the dense mode multicast stream to sparse mode so i can forward it trough my network?
Regards, Erling

The streams are not related with Dense Mode or Sparse Mode. You must configure your network (routers, switches,...) to send your stream to one destiny to another or let the routers do it for you (Sparse Mode).

It is not trivial, you will reprogram your network until you get a good result. :(

Regards :)
