Stream on Windows XP, connect to from webserver linux

I have tried various ways to get my clients IP cameras streaming on their website. My webserver is a openSuse linux server. I have connected to the streams at their location directly, but it is not stable so we are looking for other options. I am able to get a stream working stabally on their local Windows XP machine. The firewall is configured to route the PC for the ports I will be using. I am unable however to connect to these streams from my webserver and I am not sure why. Can anyone lend a hand at helping me get this working?
