HTTP stream working however...

Postby John Ford » 12 Feb 2010 21:36

After much research, I've gotten my http stream to work. However, when I go to embed the link in a webpage, I can't get the player to work. It took me a while to get the streaming to work but everything I've tried to get the stream to play from a web page doesn't work. I am currently using firefox as a browser and windows xp. I read somewhere that the x-vlc-plugin had conflicts with the windows media player?

Currently, I am using the ip address and port to open a network stream it in VLC media player. It would be nice to click on a link on a web page and have it begin to play. I am using ogg format audio files. When I click on the link it the browser asks whether I want to save the file or open a program. When I click on vlc it tries to download the stream. VLC is a great media player. It even plays my high def videos. So I really want it to work. Has anyone had success with this?
