supported Linux tuners

Postby linuxos77 » 12 Feb 2010 15:39

Hello, I've begun to research using VLC to stream OTA digital television. Wow, there's a lot more to this than I ever thought! Quick question.... What tuners (preferably PCI/PCIe otherwise USB) are supported in Redhat Enterprise 5? It appears that anything supported for Video4Linux should work, is this correct? To make sure I have this right, we are in the US, so we'd want an ATSC tuner? Does anyone have a recommendation? We'd likely be using a few (one for each of the local OTA channels), as we want to simultaneously stream about 4 channels. Which brings up one more question... Will linux support multiple cards on the same machine at the same time?
