Stream worked until my computer locked up & had to reboot.

Postby jester805 » 31 Jan 2010 01:29

I'm pretty new to VLC streaming so I'm sorry if this is lame...

I have a Core2Quad with 4 gig's of RAM running Windows7 64-bit.
I have a Logitech QuickCam Communicate Deluxe
I am running VLC version 1.0.3

Yesterday I set up a HTTP stream of my webcam. I wanted to see what the kids were doing when I wasn't around.

1. I clicked Media --> Streaming. Clicked the "Capture Device" tab and told it to use my webcam.
2. I clicked the "Network" tab and chose HTTP for my Protocol, entered my PC's IP address, and clicked on "Stream."
3. On the next window under "Source" is: http://192.168.1.5 and clicked "Next."
4. Added a new HTTP destination
5. Entered my IP address again and put it on port 80.
6. Clicked Stream.

On the other computer I want to see the stream I opened VLC and:

1. Clicked Media --> Open Network Stream
2. Changed Protocol to HTTP and entered the streaming PC's IP address (192.168.1.5)
3. Clicked Play

Well, after about an hour of live streaming my computer locked up and I had to press the "Reset" button. Everything seemed to come back up successfully, but now when I try to stream the same video, it won't work. The first couple lines in the log read this:
main error: cannot pre fill buffer
main warning: cannot create a stream_t from access

I have un-installed & re-installed VLC and my webcam software & drivers. I can't figure out what's going on. Any help would be great!

Thanks in advance!
