streaming multicast + wifi = problem

Postby Fleurette_51 » 13 Jan 2010 09:55

Hi a

I've got 2 computers (both use Window) and a rooter, one computer is connect with ethernet and the second by wifi connection.
The serveur use this command : :sout=#duplicate{dst=display,dst=rtp{dst=230.51.51.52,port=2,mux=ts},dst=rtp{dst=192.168.1.21,port=1234,mux=ts}}

and the client :
rtp://192.168.1.21:1234
or :
rtp://230.51.51.52:2

In both case the client get the stream (vlc enlarge the window) but it's awfull, sometimes i get one image but no more ...
and i never get sound.

But if i just set one unicast output (on server) :
:sout=#duplicate{dst=display,dst=rtp{dst=192.168.1.21,port=1234,mux=ts}}

I can get the stream on the client.

If i connect the second one with ethernet wire it work fine ... Why WiFi causes trouble with a multicast address ? Have I something to do on my rooter ?

Thanks all for ur help !
Really sry for my english :°

By design, WiFi sucks at multicast. Multicast has poor error correction and a low bandwidth cap.
