vlc and vod

Postby grand » 24 Nov 2009 14:07

Hello!

I'm use vlc for sreaming video files(h264). (VLC work as RTSP server, how describe on this link http://www.videolan.org/doc/streaming-h ... /ch05.html).

I'm find one problem.

When I'm try to seek video, I'm get artifacts on client's top-boxes, during some seconds (1-5 sec).

Encoded video with --sout-x264-keyint=25 option, help to solve this problem. But I have very more video, and encoding need more resource and time.

How may to solve this problem more simple, without transcode all my video files?

Thank you!

I'm afraid you can't. VLC does not support seeking to a key frame currently.
