Streaming to TV

Postby sickle » 31 Oct 2009 18:12

Hi,

I search a box able to connect to a stream from the LAN (I'll use VideoLAN) and to send it to my TV (cable, RCA, SVIDEO or COMPONENT). My computer is at 40' from my TV if I use a cable. So this is not an option. But my router and my TV are in the same room. I found one box that does it (I don't remember the name), but it uses a proprietary data stream and the software is not compatible with my Windows version (2000). Thank you.

You can browse the Internet for feedbacks of those two STB products I used:

* Aminet 130M (or other aminet)
** Customizable with webpage, mostly MPEG2 iirc so transcoding my be required on the server side.
** The one I played with did not managed very well sound gliches.

* Conceptronic CFULLHDMA
** Not dedicated to this use, but it can be set in a listen mode (I sent it MPEG2-TS on udp://)
** It decodes more file formats
** Its main usage remains UPnP AV
** It supports USB Mass Storage too

Return to “VLC stream-output (sout)”
