How do I... Stream from IP Camera

Hi All,
I am very new to video streaming. My manager has asked me to do video streaming from a IP camera (Cisco 4300). I would like to know the very basic steps involved in network video streaming. I did tried using the VLC Player for network streaming with RTSP protocol but it is giving me an error. Please help me how do i get started with video streaming for IP camera.

Please tel me the step to stream video from IP camera to my PC. i am using VLC and OS is windows XP

If your camera supports the Session Description Protocol (SDP), you can save your configuration onto an SDP file and then open it up with VLC.
