http -> multicast // vlc 0.7.x vs. 0.8.x

Hello,

Here in the office we use vlc 0.7.0 to pickup one http (shoutcast) stream and let vlc put it back on the network by Multicast.
This way 20 clients can listen to the same radio station in sync!

This works fine with vlc 0.7.x versions as long as everybody uses the same version. We tried to update to 0.8.0 all together but somehow the mutlicast clients won't stay in sync.

We have used version 0.7.x for over a year without any problems so we could keep it this way ... but i do like the idea of using the latest version :)

Is there some buffering function added to 0.8.x versions or any other logical explanation for this behaviour?

I too have noticed this issue with 0.8.1

I play an MMORPG on my main computer with music vids/dvd's multicasted from the computer to my left. Video on one, sound on the game comp so I get both game sound and movie sound.

The 0.7.x series has worked perfectly for ages, the later versions are either slightly out of sync, or the computer playing the sound will drop out I assume trying to maintain sync.

Any settings I can tweak to get back full sycronisation?

Thanks
