Installing VLC as a streaming server on an Axis linux-based

Postby Zingaro2002 » 18 Jun 2009 16:56

Hi,
I have an Axis 241 and Axis 282 video servers.
(for those who don't know: video servers have analog video and audio inputs)
Both have linux OS.
I have cris-gcc compiler installed in my Ubuntu box so that I can compile my C-language programs and put them on my axis boxes: they work!

What I want to do is: compile VLC for those video servers and use it to stream on my network BOTH live VIDEO stream (x264 codec) and live AUDIO stream (possibly ogg vorbis or vorbis speex). Better if they are synced!

Is it possible to compile VLC to work JUST as a video-audio streaming server (no gui)?
What parameters and libs do I need to use ONLY mjpeg, mpeg4 and x264 for video and mp3, ogg vorbis for audio?
How should I write my ./configure line?
Any hint?
Please help me...
