Newbe question:
Has anyone succsessuly streamed out a live PAL signal with a Pinnacle card?

(I'm trying it at the moment wit a DV500 with not much success, my card will not appear in the 'Direct show Input' and I get a
dshow error: no capture device was detected.)

If when you click on the "Refresh" button in the DirectShow input tab, your card isn't listed in the video devices combo box, it likely means that your card doesn't have a DirectShow compatible capture driver.
In that case there isn't much we can do about it.
