Streaming to istar mini hd - Mpeg2 MP@HL

Hello everybody. I am using VLC to stream a video capture(analog tv board) to a set top box(Istar mini hd - Syabas)
I wanted to know if vlc is capable of streaming MPEG2 MP@HL (Main profile - High Level) and
if anybody has any experience streaming to the Istar mini hd set top boxes.
