Client/Server Synchronization

Is there any way of synchronizing clients when streaming from VLC?

Two different situations:
- Stream in unicast to one client while displaying the video on the server as well: I'd like the client to be synchronized with the server.
- Stream in multicast: I'd like all clients to be synchronized.

This is for a situation where I setup several computers in close vicinity, and hence any time difference between machines is very annoying.

Cheers

there is an experimental netsync module. You could take a look at that.

Hmmm I don't see that anywhere in my Windows version 0.8.1.
I guess it's one of these things I should download and compile :-(
No idea how to do that...

look under
settings -> modules -> interface -> netsync (check advanced options)

your masterclient should have the "act as master client" (or something like that, i just have the german client) box checked
and i always enter the ip adress from that client in the box below

on all receiving clients just go into the dialog from above and enter the ipadress from the masterclient, dont check the masterclient-box

and you should always click on "save" ;)

now just start your stream and it should be in sync

have a nice day

I don't have that in my Windows version of VLC 8.1

Under settings / modules / interface, I have dummy, gestures, hotkeys, http, logger, ntservice, rc, sap, skins, telnet and wxwindows. No netsync
