I am working on video streaming. As part of my work, I have change the x.264 slightly and add some error resilience, and error concealment features to it. I hope some one can help to to know what is the simplest way to connect an arbitrary encoder-decoder to VLC.

If you want to transcode, you create a new encoder plugin that takes the right format as input and output, and the transcode stream output module will use automatically.

Thank you Remi,
Can you refer me to a manual, which can help me to create a new plugin.

There is no up-to-date developper documentation. Although you probably want to look at the x264.c plugin in your case.
