Streaming of Webradio mp3 stream

Hello,

Im routing my HTML traffic (POrt 80) through a proxy server. There is Webradio I would like to listen to. With my Proxysettings to block all pages exept the ones I allow I have a hard time connecting to Webradio.

Now was my Question, can I let VLC Connect directly from the Server to the Webradio (I tried this, it works) and then let it Stream the Media for the internal Network? this would mean that it actually only routs the Audio through.

Is this possible? if yes can I find a manual somewhere?

An example for the Webradio I have been trying with is: http://www.radiobeo.ch/onair/radiobeo.mp3.m3u

Thanks alot for your help
Regards

If you want to stream only one channel it is possible with VLC. If you want to stream multiple channels at the same time, I guess you have to start multiple instances of VLC for each channel. I am not sure though.

For one channel the set up is like this. (Version 0.9.8.a)

Connect to the stream and let it play.
Open the play list and select the stream (http://87.237.169.123:8000/radiobeo.mp3)
Click Right Mouse button and select Stream.
Select the HTTP checkbox and enter you local ip (eg. 192.168.1.10), enter a port number (eg 1234)
Select the encapsulation method MPEG-TS.
Now press Stream.

You are streaming on your local network. Every box on the network will be able to listen to you with VLC. They just open the networkstream http://192.168.1.10:1234.
