forward a internet stream

Hi experts,
I am not able to manage the following:
- I have 2 Computers running VLC player, one in my computer room, connected to the internet and one in
my living room, connected via HDMI to my TV.
- What I now want to do is receiving streaming video (like youtube) from the VLC in my computer room, and
immediately stream it out again without displaying it in the same format it came in (or - more generally
speaking - transcoded to a unified format)
- I have tried the VLC in my computer room reading from a local file (avi) and streaming it out - receiving from the
living room - that went OK !
- I have also tried to request a video from a Youtube URL to the VLC in my computer room, it could be displayed fine - also !
- But when I now tried to forward the youtube stream to another streamed output - to be received in the living room -
that did not work at all !! I have tried lots of times - after a few seconds, the VLC in the computer room starts displaying the
youtube video instead of streaming it out !! that's my problem.
I use VLC player 0.9.8a - can anybody help ????
thanks in advance and merry christmas
