Assigning streams to multiple audio outputs help

Postby rdc » 31 Jul 2008 01:58

I have three streams 2 analog and 1 aes I am using two Lynx L22 audio cards one on the server machine and one on the client machine. On the client machine all the streams are mixed on all outputs, I want to be able to assign a stream to a specific audio output of the Lynx audio card. Examples stream one xxx.xxx.xxx:8080 to output 1Left on the client, stream xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:8082 to output 2 Right and so on.
Thanks in advance for your help
Rick

Did you try to launch multiple copies of vlc with corresponding URLs of the streams, separated by server?
Or you just need help in separation of the input streams on the server?
Please clarify your task.

When I launch two instances of vlc each connected to a different stream fro the srever machine they are mixed on the windows default audio card output.
Can I assign them to individual outputs on the L22 audio card?

Maybe this could help:
DirectX audio output
--directx-audio-device=<integer>
Output device
DirectX device number: 0 default device, 1..N device by number(Note that the default device appears as 0 AND another number).

Return to “VLC stream-output (sout)”
