Using VLC to stream from Mobotix IP Cam

Postby KilianSSL » 16 May 2008 08:57

Good day guys

Is it possible to connect VLC directly to either
http://80.81.48.4/cgi-bin/guestimage.html (which is JPG 2 FPS)
or
http://219.101.248.138:8106/cgi-bin/guestimage.html (which seems to be MJPG 25 FPS)

Currently i'm trying a software called Cyeweb to turn JPG 2 FPS into an MMS stream, but i'd love to use VLC directly.

// edit:
from what i found out i can play "http://134.130.215.212/cgi-bin/faststre ... ream=MxPEG" in my Windows VLC...but when i attach it to the command line of my CentOS Box

Code: Select all

# vlc -vvv http://134.130.215.212/cgi-bin/faststream.jpg?stream=MxPEG --sout='#standard{access=mmsh,mux=asfh,url=0.0.0.0:8800}' --mjpeg-fps=2 --no-audio
the log keeps telling me:

Code: Select all

[00000309] mjpeg demuxer debug: MIME boundary not found in 15360 bytes of data [00000309] mjpeg demuxer debug: MIME boundary not found in 20480 bytes of data [00000309] mjpeg demuxer debug: MIME boundary not found in 25600 bytes of data [00000309] mjpeg demuxer debug: MIME boundary not found in 30720 bytes of data [00000309] mjpeg demuxer debug: MIME boundary not found in 35840 bytes of data [00000309] mjpeg demuxer debug: MIME boundary not found in 40960 bytes of data [00000309] mjpeg demuxer debug: MIME boundary not found in 46080 bytes of data
Thx for any information.

This will work for viewing the camera stream, as you suggested ---> http://<camera_IP>/cgi-bin/faststream.jpg
Go to--> VLC | Media | Network Stream.
Protocol = http
Address = <camera_IP>/cgi-bin/faststream.jpg

For more info, try the Mobotix HTTP API @ http://developer.mobotix.com/mobotix_sd ... ntrol.html

Have you tried streaming it directly to a file first, or anything other than an mms stream?

Just have a look into the thread over here, I feel that many solutions have already been given here and are still near to come! :-)

Did anyone have any luck with this? - I'm trying this and it gets a few frames and kills the connection.

$ cvlc -v --no-audio --loop --avformat-format=mjpeg 'http://admin:admin@192.168.100.232/cgi- ... .0&noaudio' --sout '#standard{access=http{mime="multipart/x-mixed-replace;boundary=7b3cc56e5f51db803f790dad720ed50a"},mux=mpjpeg,dst=:8081/video.mjpeg}'

I've noticed that as you try to output HD video with VLC you need to reduce throughput and FPS as well. I can run two VLC streams of 1080P from the same box but I need to drop the bandwidth to 300Kbps and 12FPS. I still get same quality video but less frames and no freezing problems like when I tried to push much higher FPS and well over 2MBs. This is in regards to output to HTTP only as I see from VLC output to VLC input there is not as big a problem.

I have a problem: When I open the adress, it buffers for 30 seconds - 1 minute, play something fast and then buffer again. It does the same with all mobotix cams.
Take a look here: [url]https://drive.google.com/open?id=1iOB_ISq59Xj9kMNeaT_Vx9awo41gpSQw[/url]
This is the adress: [url] http://86.127.212.113/cgi-bin/faststream.jpg?[/url]. In browser it works fine.
