First of all, hello everyone and nice forum.
I have searched through quite a few pages and can't just find what I need to solve this age old issue.
I have a hauppauge wintv-hvr1100 dvb-t hybrid card which is set up and working. I have got the latest vlc to stream video from this card but have no sound. I have found suggestions that you need to route the audio through another device, like a freeview box.
I have done that and so the current set up is to use a composite scart from back of the box with a s video cable coming out of it and into the s video socket on the card. Then, as hauppauge tells you to, I have run the white & red audio cables from the composite scart to the line in on the card, it does have one, using a 2 into 1 adaptor.
On the capture device settings in vlc I can only choose my realtek audio card and when I configure it it keeps going back to mono as soon as I ok it, it gives no option to apply the new settings. When I have the configure window open and the volume control window open on recorder settings I have tried selecting line in on both and still no audio.
I have taken the audio cables from out of the tv card line in and placed it into the blue audio socket on the sound card and you do get audio when selecting various options like, tv tuner card, aux, line in etc. However, have noticed that the audio and video are out of sync. With the line in though you actually get 2 audio streams overlapping.
I assume there is a simple thing I am missing but just need pointing in the right direction.
By the time you've read this it'll be new year
