Can I transcode to a file to view on my HTC VOX?

So I am new to this but thought I would ask.
I get several files types (dvr-ms, avi, mpg, etc) and I would like to view on my HTC VOX (WM6).
I am struggling with the wizard and wondered if there was some advice on if and how to do this?
IE compress to a small enough sized wmv, avi that can be read using tcpmp
