Trying to use VLC as video server for VOD on Windows XP.
These are my steps:
1. Start VLC server
vlc -I telnet --telnet-port 4212 --telnet-password pwd --rtsp-host 0.0.0.0:554

2. Use puttytel as telnet client, connect to vlc

3. When connected, in telnet:
new f1 vod enabled
setup f1 input "c:\1\f1.ts"

4. Trying to play on the same machine
vlc.exe rtsp://127.0.0.1/f1
everything looks perfect.

When trying to play from remote machine (like vlc.exe rtsp://ip-address/f1 , here ip-address is ip of the server), it is not playing at all. Can't understand what I am doing wrong. Below are messages on the vlc client:

Is your other client behind a NAT or a firewall? If that's the case, then VLC's RTSP module can't stream to it (It's being worked on ... but I can't say when the code will be finished).
